  • How do we feel when we see the drawing?

Do we look at it? What does it make us want to do? Do we feel close to these children? Both of them? Or do we give one of them priority? What can we tell them?

The “Organisation for Development through New Forms of Solidarity” (ODNS) is an association created by the Compagnie de Marie Notre Dame (Company of Mary Our Lady), which was founded by Saint Joan de Lestonnac. We recently celebrated our 400th anniversary.

Our Congregation follows Ignatian principles of spirituality by constantly seeking new ways to help young people. We do not leave anyone behind.

"Assist youths without leaving anyone behind"

For more than four centuries the Company, with the help of committed laymen, has promoted the full development of children and youths in 26 countries. Extreme poverty and injustice are rampant in many of these countries. More than 200,000 people throughout the world have been helped to date.

We maintain a continuous dialogue with various cultures around the world, including :

  • the indigenous people of Latin America, who value human relationshipsculture des
  • Asian cultures with a strong religious focus
  • African cultures in which young people have a remarkable strength

Fighting poverty and marginalisation

The Friends of the Company, Lestonnac schools, Notre Dame institutions and Chevreul schools all contribute to our projects. Youths and teachers are highly involved as well.

The Organisation for Development through New Forms of Solidarity and its local offices work together to provide support and assistance and to fight poverty and marginalisation.
