Finance a generator unit to promote the development of Tuadibishe School - Action 1

Each country steps up to tackle ODN projects. In France, the children in the Company of Mary Education Network schools have taken part in a charity cross-country race for young people at the Tuadibishe Institute in Mule, in the East of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

RUNNING FOR THEM

The first charity cross country race for school children in the Company of Mary Our Lady Education Network.

The twelve French schools in the Company of Mary Network took part in our charity run christened "Run for Them".

As a challenge and for charity, they ran in the countryside, in the school yard, in the street, in stadiums in the sun or rain, in the mud or in the dry but always with a smile on their faces.

Crossing the finish line, they were tired but happy to have completed as many laps as they could to bring in as much money as possible for the project. Actually, before the race, the students looked for sponsors to pay them a certain amount for each lap they completed.

A well-earned tea often finished off the day because "it's friendship that wins" as stated by the anthem chosen and sung for this occasion, tied in with the words of St Joan of Lestonnac who said "There's nothing I would recommend more than friendship"

See you again next year.

All teachers prepared the event by focussing on educating the children about charity, focussing on ODNS as the donations collected are going to help finance an electrical generator intended for a Company of Mary school in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
